We have known Marc Soyard for several years. He was Jean-Yves Bizot’s right hand man for 7 years and his style is very much non-interventionist (like Jean-Yves), believing in the purest, most elegant styles of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. With a group of friends, he farms several plots from 90 year old and 45 year old vines. His Pommard has continued to delight us. This is now the 7th year of importing the wine. The allocations are so small, that his Pommard 2021 is only available as a parcel of mixed wines.
It is with great pleasure that we now release the (very) long awaited 2021 allocation of Marc Soyard. He continues to dazzle with his mesmerising elegant wines. While critics and enthusiasts continue to cherish these small parcels of liquid gold, his efforts in the vineyard have been rewarded with a small but exquisite vintage. As ever quantities are small, and even smaller in this tiny vintage. It’s always a pleasure to visit and taste with this incredible young man who deserves all the recognition that has been bestowed on him.
The ‘21’s have been phenomenally successful for Marc, and it is great news that affordable Burgundy from this rising star is still exactly that, affordable. For savvy buyers, this is without doubt a name to follow...
